My name is Pete Wasserman, and I’ve always had a passion for fixing things. After more than 24 years in the fire service—where reliability, integrity, and attention to detail are non-negotiable—I decided to bring those same values into the community in a new way.

I currently serve as a Battalion Chief with the McKinney Fire Department, working 48 hours on duty and 96 hours off duty. During that off time, I dedicate myself fully to Off Duty Handyman, a business built on the belief that every homeowner deserves a trustworthy professional who shows up, gets the job done right, and treats every project with care.

I’ve been blessed to share life with my high school sweetheart, Erin, and together we’re raising two amazing boys, ages 19 and 15. My family has always been my motivation, and they inspire me to approach every job with the same level of integrity and dedication I’d want in someone working on our own home.

Over the years, I’ve noticed a real need in our community for a reliable handyman who values professionalism, honesty, and craftsmanship. With a lifetime of problem-solving experience and a “I can fix anything” attitude, I decided it was time to turn that passion into a business.
